The WPRC hosted the city’s first “Winnipeg Poverty Reduction Partnership Forum” on November 4-5, 2010. Over 200 Winnipeggers representing a variety of sectors came to develop a deeper understanding of the impact poverty has in all our lives and discuss ways we can address the issue as a community by leveraging each other’s strengths.

The intent of the forum was to highlight the positive and inspiring initiatives helping to reduce poverty in Winnipeg, and to facilitate more cross-sectoral approaches and partnerships moving forward to create further change.  For a full description of the forum’s activities and presentations, please Download the Partnership Forum Report.

Thank you to the following organizations for generously helping to cover the costs of the forum: the Aboriginal Council of Winnipeg, Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs, Great-West Life, Investor’s Group, Manitoba Government Employees Union, Manitoba Federation of Labour, RBC Royal Bank, Social Planning Council of Winnipeg, The Winnipeg Foundation, United Food and Commercial Workers, Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce and Winnipeg Regional Health Authority.
