The WPRC hosted the city’s first “Winnipeg Poverty Reduction Partnership Forum” on November 4-5, 2010. Over 200 Winnipeggers representing a variety of sectors came to develop a deeper understanding of the impact poverty has in all our lives and discuss ways we can address the issue as a community by leveraging each other’s strengths.

Designed to help students attending 6 schools within Winnipeg’s inner city overcome financial barriers to post secondary education, the proposed “You Can Do It” Awards program has been developed by representatives of the Winnipeg School Division, The Winnipeg Foundation, Manitoba Advanced Education, and the Winnipeg Poverty Reduction Council.
